Consignes en cas d'accident
If you hear a siren or are contacted by the Automated Emergency Measures System, here is what you should do:
- Immediately take shelter indoors, unless otherwise advised. Bring pets inside if they are nearby and easy to find.
- Close doors and windows, as well as ventilation, heating, air exchange and air conditioning systems.
- Seal openings with rags.
- Retrieve your 72-hour emergency kit.
- Leave your children at school or daycare. The staff at these establishments are informed of the measures to take.
- If you are in a vehicle, head out of the affected area as soon as possible, while respecting the Highway Safety Code. Close windows, air conditioning or heating.
- Free up telephone lines for emergency services. Do not call 911 or any other authority for information.
- Tune to 103.1 FM (CKOD) and follow updates on the Ville de Salaberry-de-Valleyfield website for instructions from authorities.
You will be informed as soon as the situation returns to normal.
